Hyde Park Capital announced today that its client, Emerald Coast Infectious Disease (“ECID”), a full-service provider of infectious disease care, infusion services, and wound care treatment located in Fort Walton Beach and Crestview, FL, has been acquired by RCap Equity Partners (“RCap”), a middle-market private equity firm based in Wayne, PA. Hyde Park Capital served as the exclusive investment banker to ECID for this transaction. Carlton Fields served as legal counsel to ECID.
Dr. Patrick Anastasio, Owner and Head Physician of Emerald Coast Infectious Disease, said “I am extremely excited to partner with RCap and take ECID to the next level. With ECID’s exceptional care and RCap’s aptitude for growth, I believe we can become the premier provider of infectious disease care throughout the entire Florida Panhandle.”
Regarding Hyde Park’s services, Dr. Anastasio also said “the Hyde Park team was intricate in finding ECID the best deal. Their professional experience and knowledge helped us navigate through the process, which at times was arduous. Josh, John, and the rest of the HPC team were there with us every step of the way and we would recommend them to any physician practice contemplating a partnership. We are extremely grateful for their services and so glad we chose HPC to be our investment banker.”
Randall Kutch, General Partner of RCap Equity Partners, said “We are extremely excited to partner with Dr. Anastasio and the ECID team. ECID’s focus on providing quality care to their patients was a main driver in our interest in partnering. I believe we can leverage Dr. Anastasio’s experience and prestige in infectious disease and infusion therapy to create a regional platform.”
John McDonald, Senior Managing Director of Hyde Park Capital, said “We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to represent the leading provider of full-service infectious disease care to the Emerald Coast of Florida. Dr. Anastasio is a thought leader in the infectious disease specialty and will be a great partner for RCap.”
The partnership of RCap and ECID marks the first private equity investment in the infectious disease specialty. The infectious disease specialty is extremely fragmented, comprised of many groups of private doctors. This, paired with the macro tailwinds such as an aging population, makes infectious disease poised for consolidation.
